Can we take a moment to just bathe in the epic glory of this song? One of my new favourite score pieces; it’s breathtaking.

Currently dying in bed listening to this. The only semi-beautiful thing right now is my mind. Apt-tastic.

I’ve only just got round to listening some of The Dark Knight Rises soundtrack properly, and it’s a very interesting addition to the trilogy. This is full-blown epic Hans Zimmer delivering a harsh and fearful score to represent Bane and his impending revolution. It is only in the final track Rise that I feel we have come full circle with Batman Begins and The Dark Knight stylistically.
I do keenly miss the absence of James Newton-Howard though in some of the tracks. Although Howard has a very diverse style, my favourite of his pieces are the quietly heart wrenching ones with the soft strings and ethereal piano (think ”Sanctuary” from SWATH, “Prologue” from The Lady In The Water and “The Gravel Road” from The Village). I like to think he brought his tragic, fantastical style that was just stunning in the first two films (“Harvey Two Face” jumps out at me), and tugged Zimmer a little bit from his normal style.

I just saw a kitten rolling around in a hamster ball to this song on youtube. I forgot what a classic it was.

I went and saw Snow White and the Huntsman last night and one thing I was completely taken aback by was the magnificent score from James Newton-Howard. A triumphant, roaring score which in some scenes literally took my breath away; the track I’ve selected above is from one such moment. I think both The Hunger Games and SWATH have been a real return to form for JNH. I’ll look forward to see what he does for The Bourne Legacy.

Just chilling, you know, loving on Pepperony… and by some strange, magical coincidence… A WILD AVENGERS SCORE APPEARS.

Nearly every night I fall asleep to this piece. It makes me glowy.
